Whistler Gran Fondo - Is your bike ready?

You’ve been riding all those miles for months now to get ready for the inaugural Whistler Gran Fondo on Sept 11!
Make sure your bike is as prepared as you are!
Like any other race or big riding event, there is so much invested before the ride, don’t let an old tire or worn chain ruin your big day – bring your bike in for a tune-up and fresh parts where needed before the big day!

We’ll be very busy in the days before the ride. We’ll try to help everyone, but last minute panic is stress you don’t need! Book an appointment now, don’t wait until the last couple of days.

Fondo Preparation Tips
- at a minimum, get a full tune-up and bike check before the big day. All those training hours can be hard on a bike. We’ll let you know what you need and make sure everything is safe and ready.
- consider fresh new tires – but make sure you plan to ride them for a few hours before the Fondo event.
- new bar tape can make a bike look and feel fresh and new, and will be nice for the hours of the event!
- when was the last time you replaced your chain? Save that expensive cassette and chainrings, replace regularly.
- make sure your spare tubes are in place, the pump or CO2 works. Don’t find out beside the road at Furry Creek…
- check your cleats for wear, they are inexpensive to replace and safer when not worn down.
- go over your clothing plan. Have a light rain shell if it is wet? arm and knee warmers for the morning? It is shady and cool even on nice days from Horseshoe bay most of the way to Squamish.
- reward yourself with some fresh gloves and a new set of riding shorts for the big day. Not the same old gear you have been riding all spring and summer?
