Giant TCX 2
Posted: Jan 18 2011 in Commentary
Most of us have heard the saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none”. Today’s featured bike fits nicely into this category as it checks of most, if not all of the boxes people have for riding on the road.
The Giant TCX 2 is Giant’s price-point Cyclo-Cross bike. This bike may be the ideal commuter bike, with it’s road-inspired roots and slightly wider tires it is capable of tackling any bike route you come across. If you want to explore off road a bit, you can head into the trees and ride along any gravel path, only needing to take head of larger rocks and roots. A great example of where this bike would shine is if you were to commute from downtown to the base of Burnaby Mountain. You could cruise along the paved cycle routes until you hit the Second Narrows bridge where you can join up with the Trans Canada trail. This route gives you great scenery as well as a mixture of paved and gravel paths.
WIth powerful Canti-Lever brakes you will find it easy to control your speed, especially with the larger contact patch of the Kenda Small Block 8 tires.
There are even fender mounts!
Giant has really done a fantastic job with this bike. It allows you to commute into work one day, and head out on that group ride the next. Come on by and check out this bike!
