Different Bikes is now a proud dealer of Look bicycles. We'll be focusing on the Road and Tri bikes, but Look also makes a range of track and mountain bikes.
Look History
Although not one of it's oldest, Look is still one of France's storied bike and equipment brands. Look was founded in 1951, although at that time was a ski equipment manufacturer, and became very well known for its bindings and binding technology. It was that experience that led them to cycling - Look introduced one of the first so-called "clipless" pedal systems, replacing the old toe clip system with an automatic system similar to ski bindings. First marketed in the early 1980's they gained fame in 1985 when Bernard Hinault won the Tour de France on them - a first, that led to the accelerated adoption and ubiquity that we see today. Look continues to provide a range of innovative clipless pedal designs for every budget.
Through its pedal business and corporate ownership, Look became more involved in cycling and again extended its expertise, this time in carbon fibre, to create one of the first carbon-fibre road bike frames, in 1986. This new technology also saw immediate success, winning the 1986 Tour de France under Greg Lemond.
Look has built on that technology and experience over the past 25 years and now makes a line of world class bikes, ridden by numerous European pro teams. And you can have one too!
Models
Different Bikes will be stocking most key models, with a variety of component groups. All road models are available to us, although may have a lead time for delivery from France. We are also able to provide Frame and Fork options only so you can build your own dream bike.
