All of us here at Different Bikes are passionate about cycling and our goal is to share that passion with you!
Different Bikes History
Incorporated in late 2005, the first Different Bikes opened in West Vancouver in February 2006.
Our simple idea of delivering consistently excellent service in a friendly environment seemed to catch on quickly! We built on that initial success and added a second bike store in North Vancouver in March 2007. In spring of 2008, we added a third bike shop to the Different Bikes family, this one in Vancouver, when an existing shop (formerly Cyclepath Broadway) joined the DB family. In late 2009, the fourth addition came on board in North Burnaby at the location of a previous locally-focused store (Sharpey’s Cycles). Different Bikes brought the staff on board for more reach into this local riding community.
Now in our sixth season, we are one of the largest independent bicycle retailers in BC, although the experience in each location strives to combine the best of being big with the best of being small and local. We’re working hard to ensure that the business keeps growing steadily by delivering on our high service vision and earning every customer!
The Business
Different Bikes is not a franchise or a buying group but a locally owned and operated bike retailer with four locations.
Different Bikes focuses on friendly and responsive service for all members of the family in neighbourhood-style, personal shop environments. We offer a wide range of parts, clothing and accessories from nearly every brand in the industry. Our bicycle brands are world class including Giant, Rocky Mountain, Norco and Kona, in addition to specialty bikes from Knolly, Ridley, Wilier, Look, Intense, Moots, Niner, Independent Fabrication and others.
Different Bikes is a proud member of the communities we operate in, striving to provide time, funds and products to local charities and programs that support children and youth, active and healthy lifestyles.
The Different Bikes Team
DB was founded by a small but diverse group of passionate cyclists, all either experienced bike industry people or successful business people from other industries. Most of our store managers and key staff are also owners in the business. We Ride!
